End of Tenancy Cleaning – Getting Your Deposit Back

Before handing back the keys after renting a property you will need to make sure that it is left in the same state that you found it for you to get your full deposit back, this can be a very extensive process from cleaning obvious areas such as visible surfaces, to less obvious places such as the filters in your extractor hood vent above the hob.

To make sure you have got to everything, it is best to look at your inventory check in report which should have been sent to you along with your tenancy agreement at the beginning of your tenancy – in this report you will see photos and notes about the general cleanliness of each room / area and specific appliances, as well as if there was existing damage to any items. When starting your tenancy, it is good practice to go through this inventory check, note anything you see that is not on the report and take photos as evidence to send on to the landlord / letting agent to then amend the document.

If you have damaged anything in the property during your tenancy, this will likely result in money being taken off your deposit to replace / fix anything that has been damaged, but general wear and tear you are not normally penalised for.

End of tenancy cleaning can be extremely daunting unless you are aware of where inventory companies are going to check. If you are unsure of where to look and what to clean please see our End of Tenancy Cleaning Checklist

In most cases moving house is incredibly stressful and as cleaning the property you are vacating must be left until last (once your belongings have been removed), having a cleaning company come to do the end of tenancy clean for you instead of doing it yourself can be a huge weight off your shoulders.

At Why Bother Cleaning our end of tenancy cleans are managed meticulously from estimating the amount of hours needed and cost based on the answers you submit through the Instant Quote Form, to a walkthrough of your property with yourself before cleaning begins, the cleaning itself, a walk through at the end of the cleaning, and a guarantee of our work; so if the landlord or letting agent are unhappy with the standard of cleaning (where it is down to our cleaning standards as opposed to damage / staining that you have done to the property) then we will go back and clean any areas that are needing further attention at no extra charge.

If you are looking for a company to help you with your end of tenancy cleaning in the Brighton and Hove area, fill out our Instant Quote Form for more information today!
